Locals and visitors across the island of Ireland annually enjoy the unique experience of Culture Night, a free night of entertainment, discovery and adventure taking place in 34 towns, cities, counties and islands in Ireland.
An embarrasment of riches for Culture Night in Cavan this 20th September 2013. Museums, historic houses, artists’ studios and cultural centres open their doors into the evening.
Culture Night Events - Friday 20th September
Art Investigates with Kim Doherty: In the lead up to Culture Night, Kim Doherty will work with local pre and after school groups to investigate what art means to young people in Cavan. Kim will visit 4 pre-schools and 2 after-schools. On Culture Night the children will visit work from the County Collection at Cavan County Council Offices. Art Investigates at the Courthouse Cavan pre school group 11am to 12pm and afterschool 2pm to 4.30pm (Big Steps Afterschool and Stepping Stones)
Book lovers will love the launch of the '100 Books with a Difference'. Each book gives an insight into the wisdom of celebrating wisdom. The much acclaimed Belfast-born writer Bernard MacLaverty will be here. Date: 20 Sept.
