Cavan Business & Tourism Awards 2012

The inaugural Cavan Business & Tourism Awards 2012 were held on Thursday September 27th 2012 in the Hotel Kilmore, Cavan.  Four hundred guests welcomed the nominees and guest of honour, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, as thirty companies battled it out for the top awards.

Speaking at the Awards, Mr. Kenny said “ I believe that Cavan is well placed to be a big part of Ireland’s new, enterprise economy. It is clear that Cavan is an enterprising county, rich in imagination, creativity, business acumen and a can-do attitude”. 

County Manager, Jack Keyes, expressed his confidence in the County to “be the best” and the calibre of the nominees reflected the drive and ambition of business people in the County to succeed, despite the challenges. 
Lakeland Dairies scooped the top award of the night, Overall Business of Year Award, and CEO, Michael Hanley, thanked the management and staff of the company for their commitment to the continuing growth of this international business.

Ballytherm Ltd were the winners of the Most Innovative Business (Industry) Award which was sponsored by Cavan County Enterprise Board.  Ballytherm Ltd, based in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, manufacture a range of insulation products for the construction sector.
