Moynalty Steam Threshing

Moynalty Steam Threshing

Moynalty Steam Threshing is a community festival run by volunteers in aid of the community and many different charities. The first Threshing was held in 1976 to raise funds for the Church extension. The event has grown from strength to strength since and has an annual attendence in excess of 30,000.

This years Moynalty Steam Rally will feature a traditional road making display depicting scenes from the latter part of the steam engine era and the early diesel era. One of the original Dorset steam fair road making teams will also be there. Some of the steam engine line up can be seen in full working mode within the exhibit involving themselves in stone crushing, road grading and road rolling demonstrations throughout the day while the road making teams, dressed in traditional garb, busy themselves in roadway preparations and other entertaining and interesting crowd pleasing activities throughout the day.

In other exciting news, Nathan Carter will be performing!

People travel from far afield to demonstrate their crafts and exhibits and to provide entertainment for our visitors.
