Nyah Festival 2018

The Nyah Traditional Irish Music Festival returns this year from 10-17 March, with a bumper programme of events to mark Bliain na Gaeilge 2018.

The festival highlight will be a concert extravaganza at the Backyard Arts and Cultural Centre in Moynehall on Saturday, 10 March. Performing will be Jig of Life Award 2018 Recipient, button accordion and concertina player Jackie Daly (De Dannan), alongside Tommy Fitzharris (flute/concertina), Brian Mooney (banjo/bouzouki), Mick Foley (Uilleann Pipes/flute), Kavan Donohoe (Harp/Pipes/Guitar), and Niall Vallely (Concertina).

The concert will also feature performances from  a vast array of musicians including Shane Creed, Conor Arkins, Aoibhean Queally Concertina, Elaine Reilly, Paul Clesham, Michelle Foy, Aisling Hunt, Grainne Fitzgibbon, Róisín Brodrick, Claire Fennell, Brid McGowan, Cathal Lynch, Kevin Meehan, Eamon Nugent, Jack Warnock, Eamon McGivney, Molly Walls, Seamus Fay, Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha, Donna McCann, Noel Sweeney, Savannah Donohoe, Charlie Galloway, Adamar O'Connor, Zoran Donohoe, Ellen and Jack Grant, Barry Conaty, Oisin McCorry, Seán and Niall Curran, Charlie, Hannah, and Emily O'Reilly.

MC on the night is Martin Donohoe, presenter of ‘The Wind that Blows’, Saturday nights on Shannonside and Northern Sound Radio. Tickets are €20 for adults, with concessions for youth under 18 accompanied by an adult (€10).

Nyah will also host workshops with renowned musician Tim Edey on Saturday, 17 February. Tim wil l give button accordion (2:30pm) and guitar (4:30pm) workshops. Workshops are €20 and can be booked through 086 234 2270.
